There are many ways to help! Volunteer with a local nonprofit organization, volunteer with us, donate, refer a family who needs assistance, become a sponsor, or give resource suggestions. There are opportunities for everyone to get involved!

In the past year alone we have sent over 40 care packages to deployed military members, shared hundreds of local resources, filled 65+ backpacks with school supplies for needy families, raised over $600 for a WW11 Veteran & replaced his flooring, and helped dozens of seniors with technology. All this and we are just getting started! It is our volunteers and community partners that make it all possible. Consider becoming a volunteer today!

ADOPT-A-TROOP military CARE PACKAGE PROGRAM

The Valley Resource Center sends numerous care packages to deployed military members the first week of every month for our Adopt-a-Troop program . We have sent over 105 boxes this year alone and our list continues to grow each month!

Most of our adopted troops are stationed in the Middle East.  If you or your organization can help, we need items such as food, instant coffee, and protein powder as well as shipping costs. If you wish to donate items, please see the suggested list below. Please note that many of our units are serving in the Middle East where it gets very hot so please do not donate items that may melt. Letters of support for our military are always welcome and appreciated as well.

Is your organization interested in Adopting-A-Troop? Contact us to find out how you can assist a specific unit for the duration of their deployment by providing care package items, shipping costs, and letters of support! Also, contact us for more information about how your organization can join us at a care package event.

Senior Information Technology Table (S.I.T.T.)

The Valley Resource Center is offering a FREE technology assistance program for local senior citizens to learn the use of computers and cellphones. This is a great opportunity for members of the senior community to connect with loved ones as well as access a wide array of resources. We provide assistance with social media interaction, working with apps, website navigation, and more. Our goal is to empower older adults by connecting them to community resources to help them live connected and fulfilling lives.

We focus on four core programs - Computer Basics, Internet Basics, Email Proficiency, and an Introduction to Social Media.

Senior Information Technology Tables (S.I.T.T.'s) are held at the Murrieta Senior Center the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am-11:00 am. No appointment needed. The Valley Resource Center is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization. For more information, please call 951-384-0110.

Backpack drive

We have provided over 65 new backpacks filled with school supplies to low-income children in SW Riverside County for the 2017-2018 school year!

Our goal is to fill at least 100 backpacks for the next school year. A donation of just $40 will fill a backpack giving low-income youth a head start for a brighter future.

**The Valley Resource Center is a proud community partner of the City of Menifee.
